How to create a subaccount
1. Open the Subaccounts page in the Account menu.

3. Choose Standard Margin or Portfolio Margin.
Standard Margin calculates the margin for each position separately, with the exception for spreads within the same expiry. Standard Margin supports all markets and cross-asset collateral. Users can trade both the ETH and BTC markets, using various base assets (e.g., WETH, WBTC) as collateral for their positions.
Portfolio Margin uses the maximum loss scenario to determine margin requirements, resulting in capital efficiency. Portfolio Margin only supports a single market. If a user wishes to trade both the ETH and BTC markets with Portfolio Margin, they must create a subaccount for each one.
3a. If you are creating a Portfolio Margin subaccount, choose the Market you wish to trade.
4. Choose a Name (optional) and select Create Subaccount.
5. Select Done.
6. Select Deposit or Transfer to fund the subaccount.
Standard Margin supports the quote asset (USDC) and various base assets (e.g., WETH, WBTC).
Portfolio Margin supports only the quote asset (USDC).
